Cherry Bars

1 c butter
1 3/4 c sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 c flour
31 oz can cherry pie filling
(powdered sugar glaze & sliced almonds)

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream butter & sugar, then add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Add vanilla, baking powder, and flour. Mix well, then spread 2/3 of dough into a rimmed cookie sheet or jelly-roll pan. Spread pie filling over dough. Drop remaining dough in blobs on top. Bake for 45 minutes. Top with powdered sugar glaze and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

Time to make: ~1 hour
