English Muffins Loaf

2 Tbsp yeast
6 c flour
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 c milk
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 c water
cornmeal

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.

Combine 3 c flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Heat liquids until quite warm and add dry mixture, beating well to blend. Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff batter.

Spoon into 2 medium size loaf pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle cornmeal on top. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Bake for 25 minutes.
