{"id":125,"date":"2009-09-02T00:36:43","date_gmt":"2009-09-02T00:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/groo.wordpress.com\/?p=125"},"modified":"2009-09-02T00:36:43","modified_gmt":"2009-09-02T00:36:43","slug":"spicy-tomato-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groo.4ever.family\/recipes\/2009\/09\/02\/spicy-tomato-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Spicy Tomato Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Angie created this dish shortly after she and Jim moved to California &#8211; it was a big hit, and has become a family favorite at our house.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>2 C Roasted Red Pepper &amp; Tomato Soup<br \/>\n15 oz diced tomatoes<br \/>\n\u00bd cup orzo pasta<br \/>\n2 Louisiana Brand hot link sausages (about 8 oz), diced<\/p>\n<p>Gently mix soup and tomatoes into a saucepan over med-high heat, stirring occasionally. In a wide skillet, fry up diced sausage until slightly darkened but not crisp. Drain well. When soup begins to boil, add sausage and orzo and turn heat to med-low. Continue to stir occasionally, all the way to the bottom (otherwise the orzo likes to sink and stick). Simmer for about 15 minutes, or until pasta is al dente.<\/p>\n<p>Yields: 4-6 servings<\/p>\n<p>Time to make: 20 &#8211; 30 min<\/p>\n<p>Source: Angela Peterson Hoffman<\/p>\n<p>Notes: We like to add a little half &amp; half or a dollop of sour cream to cool down the soup and make it creamy.
