{"id":524,"date":"2009-09-22T05:20:13","date_gmt":"2009-09-22T05:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/groo.wordpress.com\/?p=524"},"modified":"2009-09-22T05:20:13","modified_gmt":"2009-09-22T05:20:13","slug":"sweet-spicy-creamy-fettucini","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groo.4ever.family\/recipes\/2009\/09\/22\/sweet-spicy-creamy-fettucini\/","title":{"rendered":"Pasta Ardente"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This &#8220;Fiery Pasta&#8221; is based on a recipe from <a href=\"http:\/\/simplyrecipes.com\/recipes\/fettuccine_with_creamy_tomato_italian_sausage_sauce\/\">simplyRecipes.com<\/a> that Angie and Jim discovered on a very successful Try-Me-Night.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>2-3 Tbsp olive oil<br \/>\n3 shallots, chopped<br \/>\n2 large garlic cloves, chopped<br \/>\n1\/2 pound sweet Italian sausage, casings removed<br \/>\n1\/2 pound spicy or hot Italian sausage, casings removed<br \/>\n1 cup heavy cream<br \/>\n30 oz diced tomatoes in juice<br \/>\n1 Tbsp dried sage<br \/>\n1 pound dry rotini or rigatoni pasta<br \/>\n2\/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat. Add shallots and garlic and saut\u00e9 until beginning to soften, about 3 minutes. Add sausages and saut\u00e9 until no longer pink, breaking up the sausages a bit, about 5 minutes. Add cream; simmer 5 minutes. Add tomatoes with juices. Add sage. Simmer until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until almost, but not quite, al dente (done). Drain pasta, reserving about 1 cup cooking liquid.<\/p>\n<p>Add pasta to sauce and mix until pasta is coated, adding reserved cooking liquid by 1\/4 cupfuls if mixture is dry.
