{"id":78,"date":"2009-09-01T23:30:53","date_gmt":"2009-09-01T23:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/groo.wordpress.com\/?p=78"},"modified":"2009-09-01T23:30:53","modified_gmt":"2009-09-01T23:30:53","slug":"hot-spinach-artichoke-dip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groo.4ever.family\/recipes\/2009\/09\/01\/hot-spinach-artichoke-dip\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe is based on one by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/alton-brown\/hot-spinach-and-artichoke-dip-recipe\/index.html\">Alton Brown, from the Good Eats episode \u201cDip Madness.\u201d<\/a> Several alterations have been made, however, so Angie claims this version.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>8-10 oz chopped frozen spinach, thawed*<br \/>\n8-10 oz chopped frozen artichoke hearts, thawed*<br \/>\n8 oz. cream cheese, softened<br \/>\n\u2153 cup sour cream<br \/>\n\u2153 cup mayonnaise<br \/>\n\u00bd cup Parmesan cheese<br \/>\n\u00bc tsp cayenne pepper<br \/>\n\u00bc tsp salt<br \/>\n\u00bc tsp garlic powder<br \/>\n*Both fresh and canned veggies can work as well, but frozen just seems to behave better in this recipe, for some reason. <\/p>\n<p>Microwave veggies (or boil on stove) for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Drain veggies thoroughly, then set aside.  Cube cream cheese and place in a large saucepan over low heat (stirring frequently), until warm and creamy. Mix veggies into cream cheese and add all remaining ingredients. Continue to warm over low heat for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste to be sure dip is warm enough, then serve. <\/p>\n<p>Dip can be made entirely in the microwave &#8211; just use low power and stir often.<\/p>\n<p>Yields: 8-10 servings<\/p>\n<p>Time to make: 15 &#8211; 20 min<\/p>\n<p>Source: Angela Peterson Hoffman<\/p>\n<p>Notes: Serve in a chafing dish or small crock-pot set to warm.
